Pair work

This is a group project that collaborates with the KFive Furniture Company.

we designed an acoustic panel using mycelium as material. Mycelium is the root network of mushrooms that has the capacity of acting as a form of natural glue. It is biodegradable and its spongy structure makes mycelium suitable for the acoustic panel material.

We start with the experiments on the mycelium such as substrates, and the colouring test. The fish scale panel design is simple yet has an organic form to be suited to the KFive design characteristics. This shape also makes it easier to customise the combination of the panels according to the situation and the preferences.
