Skylark Base
"Spread Wings"
10.2020
This is the new inhabitation for the indigenous Australian skylark in the urban area. Skylark is known for the complex songs employed by the males which are their courting action. However, skylarks are facing a problem of habitation loss caused by urbanization. Therefore, I designed the space providing the habitation which makes it possible to coexist with skylarks in the urban area. It can protect them from predators, and also create some interaction with humans, giving us the space for relaxation by skylark’s peaceful song.

The design considered the behaviour habits of the skylark, such their preferences for the ground of grassland for activities including nesting. Therefore, I designed the space lower ground with vegetation covering the space. Also, I carefully considered the interaction with people so they could feel the nature which might lead them to consider how they can help protect it.
