Hall of Bubble Comfort

05.2021

Hall of Bubble Comfort is designed for human rights art & film festivals in the Hansen Hall at the State Library of Victoria. I designed an inflatable dome which can transform into a chair, screen, and presentation room. The HRAFF aims to motivate social justice by making human rights relevant to all through art, film, talk shows etc. Therefore, the design concept for this project is to create inclusive space to encourage all people to connect and discuss human rights issues.

I created a soft atmosphere of nature which makes people active and happy by the bouncing material and the organic shapes cushioned among people make soft feelings while sharing their ideas.

"when we looked at in the full awareness of how pavilions, pop-ups and parasols are intended…they can be used as ‘platforms for change,’ engines of social purpose."
-Leon van Schaik, (Professor of Architecture)

I got inspired from this quote that temporary event design can affect social challenges, which made me design the project that encourages people to discuss social issues.
